The Empowerment Society Club
Maybe you came to my book table. Maybe you heard me speak, ordered the book, or showed up to one of my events. Or maybe you’re just super cool and I put you on my VIP list. Either way, I’m reaching out because I heard you. I remember the conversations, the questions, the hugs, and the “Miss Tee, I needed that.” So here it is.
What TES does for you:
Your emotional health. Every month you’ll get a healing practice from The Risk of Being Seen, because you can’t build a life on top of wounds you haven’t looked at. We’ll talk about the cost of being strong, survivor’s guilt, imposter syndrome, and what happens when you finally stop shrinking.
Your identity. You’ll stop asking “who am I allowed to be?” and start asking “who am I becoming?” We’ll work through the girl of yesterday and the woman of tomorrow, owning your story instead of hiding from it, and trusting your own voice again.
Building the life you want. You’ll get real business and life strategy you can use that week. Not theory, just the moves that worked for me, and the ones that didn’t, so you don’t have to learn them the hard way.
What shows up in your mailbox, starting in November:
A real letter from me every month, with a true story, a healing practice and a business tip
An “I Dare You” adventure card, so you can stretch yourself and share your win with the community
A pen pal match: people cheering for you on purpose
Book club cards, bookmarks, stickers and surprises
Fun knick-knacks and inserts to make you smile and send you on an adventure
Invitations to TES gatherings at the Innovation Factory
Founding Member status for life if you join now
[Become a Founding Member →] · $10/month

Support our youth
Put a book in the hands of a young person navigating the juvenile justice system. I’ve served opportunity youth in the hall since 2012. Sometimes I get 15 minutes with them, sometimes a week, and then they’re gone: moved, displaced, sometimes on the run. I spent eight years writing The Risk of Being Seen so they’d have something to carry with them. $25 sponsors one copy. You write them a personal note, and I hand-deliver the book and your note to the hall, free of charge.

Give the gift of CONFIDENCE. Our new Youth Dance & Performance Conservatory isn’t one class. It’s a full year of training:
Dance styles: technique, hip hop, jazz, tap, ballet and performance
Travel: dancer trips are included
Wraparound support for the whole family, including financial wellness, healthy living and more
Our dancers come from Title I schools, foster care, the juvenile hall and families working their way through CalWORKs. We use the arts to change lives. We’ve done it for years, and we have the evidence. Sponsor a dancer, a team or a season, or come volunteer with us.
[Sponsor a dancer → StudioTArts.org/YDPC] or reply and we’ll talk.
Know a company or a person who’d want to sponsor? Forward this. It might be the yes we’ve been praying for.
As you support us, we support our youth.
With deep gratitude and excitement about all that is to come!
