Tamaira 'Miss Tee' Sandifer is being acknowledged by McCarty for her success in developing youth programs that provide critical creative and life skills through exposure to the arts. Her goal is to ultimately “train youth to use the arts as an entrepreneurial tool to generate income, creativity and healing.” Having spent more than 30 years immersed in the world of dance and advocacy, Sandifer’s lifelong dedication to being a champion for the development and confidence of every child has earned her a place among this notable group of women. Through her tireless efforts, she has mentored nearly 200,000 youth throughout the COVID-19 pandemic in school districts and underserved communities throughout Northern California and virtually across the globe. Centered around dance, this work has included fostering educational partnerships and enrichment programs related to physical, as well as mental and emotional health. In February 2022 the Studio T dance/mentorship program was launched in the San Diego Unified school district in San Diego, CA.
